Laura Temple - Director of English

As Director of English, Laura was inspired to teach at St Peter’s Academy as a result of the strong Catholic values and community aspect of the school. Having noticed that Ofsted highlighted areas for improvement required in the English department, Laura was passionate about taking on the challenge, and believed her skill set would make a difference to our student’s education.

Praising the dedication of staff at the school, Laura believes the staff goes above and beyond in providing the highest level of teaching for students, working hard to make a difference to students’ lives. Looking to the future; Laura looks forward to developing her role within the school, to incorporate more learning opportunities for students.

“I chose a career in teaching because my own English teachers ignited a passion in me, to inspire learning in others. I truly believe our students are our greatest asset, they are eager to learn, enjoy a challenge and ensure that no day is ever the same”.

Ceri Hart - Lead Teacher of Catering

As Lead Teacher of Catering; Ceri has a fundamental role within the academy to continually provide a healthy eating and nutritional provision for students. Having achieved the Healthy School’s status for the academy, her future ambitions for the school is to enforce good nutrition in every student’s life and offer a range of opportunities to develop student’s life skills.

With a passion for teaching and a desire to inspire learning, Ceri joined St Peter’s Academy over four years ago. Citing our unique environment, she praises the emphasis on developing the whole child as one of St Peter’s strengths, along with positive and meaningful relationships and the solid foundation we offer our students to grow and mature.

“Students enjoy their learning experience as they feel a sense of belonging to St Peter’s. Students feel safe, receive a well-rounded education and are supported at every stage of their educational journey, and it is incredibly rewarding to be a part of that provision”.

Jean-Marie Myers - Office Manager

Having worked as office manager for six years, Jean-Marie has the opportunity to work with both students and staff on a daily basis. She praises the cross-over aspect of her role, managing the daily running of the school and pastoral care as unique providing an insight into the school, from the perspective of everyone in our community.

“The people I work with, both staff and students are incredibly inspiring. All staff has the student’s wellbeing and outcomes at the centre of all that we do and we pride ourselves on our strong relationships – it is a wonderful community for all those involved”.

Jacqueline Hutchinson - Academy Careers Lead

Jacqueline began her career at St Peter’s Academy six years ago, qualifying as a careers advisor and now taking up her role as entitlement officer. With a strong desire to help students realise their potential and help them to explore the opportunities available to them, Jacqueline hopes to further expand her role and have a positive impact on students, further developing the prospects available to them.

Praising the work ethic of students, Jacqueline commented that results day is the most rewarding aspect of the role; witnessing students reap the results of their hard work and moving on to their next adventures, having received all the support to prepare them for their future, at St Peter’s.

“Students at St Peter’s are incredibly supportive of one another, and their attitudes and perspectives mirror the community feel and Catholic faith that we embed in all that we do. I was lucky enough to find a school that matched with my vision and values”.
